Retracta Ladder™ is a retractable elevator pit ladder engineered to fit tight clearances where a traditional, stationary pit ladder won't work.

  7" wall to center of rung when deployed for full OSHA and ASME A17.1-1996 through 2007 compliance.
  3" wall to outside edge of ladder when retracted for exceptionally tight clearance.
  16" wide I.D. and available in 1-foot height increments for all pit  depths.  Also available in 12" & 9.5" widths and non-standard pit depths. 
  Traction Tread™ rungs are 3-hole self-cleaning, raised pattern channels for exceptional grip and strength (495 lbs over 2-foot span with a safety factor of 2).
  Safety Limit Switch, to be field wired in series with elevator stop switch, prevents elevator operation when ladder is deployed. Wall brackets allow relocating switch to opposite side for optimal wiring convenience.
  Gas spring (strut) sized and mounted to reduce effort required to deploy or retract ladder to less than 10 lbf (< 50 lbf per code).
  Pull pin with easy grip T-handle functions both to deploy and retract ladder as well as to mechanically secure ladder in both positions.
  Reversible installation with provisions to mount switch & pull pin handle on either side of ladder.
  OSHA Safety Yellow powder coat painted for optimal visual safety and maximum rust protection.
  Pre-greased hinge points for lifetime operation.
  Two sections for reduced shipping costs and ease of handling (field assembly required).  Otherwise completely assembled and ready to install (wall mounting fasteners, e.g. 1/2" wedge anchors or lag screws not included).
  Ideal for new and existing elevators, including MRL hoistway overhead machine access.
