• ​​Powered Retracta Ladder® extends 36" from rung-to-wall or beam when extended, 6-1/2" retracted.
• Reduce pit access hazard when there’s too large a distance from the cab entrance to the hoistway wall​​:​
      ​- Center-opening doors
      - Side-opening doors when not feasible to mount ladder
        on strike side wall
• Solves 39” A17.1/B44 rule 2.2.4.6(c) for maximum distance between ladder and means to unlock pit access door.
• ​Enhances safety by bringing ladder closer to pit access point, reducing long stretch to step on or off ladder.
• Meet OSHA 1926.1053(a)(16) - 12" max. platform to ladder rung.​​
• Don’t reach unsafe distance to the ladder, typ. +2½ feet.
• Ladder comes to you with the turn of a key.
• 4' (#PRL48) thru 13' (#PRL156) pit depths and 16" & 12" wide rungs.  Full Rung Top option available.
• ​Option A: hoistway access key raises car, then extends ladder automatically - requires elevator controller interface.
• Option B: dedicated switch extends and retracts ladder after car is raised. Optional #PRL-LKS4 - NEMA 4X Ladder Key Switch Station or purchaser supplied (fixture package).
• 1,000 lbf linear actuator with integrated control, UL/CE labeled.

Watch a live action video of the Powered Retracta Ladder® installation with the Option A control, with elevator controller interface, where the ladder is controlled by the elevator's hoistway access key switch.  The video begins with the mechanic turning the access key to the UP position, the car rises until it hits the access limit switch.  Then, still holding the key in the UP position, the ladder automatically extends out from the wall to its landed position, 36" out from the wall.  

Then the video shows the mechanic turning the hoistway access key to the DOWN position, the car does not move - instead the ladder retracts to the wall.  Then, still holding the key, the car begins to lower as normal.
